About Jake

I grew up in Donald, a small town in Northwest Victoria. I studied a Bachelor of Health Sciences with a Masters in Podiatric Practice at Latrobe University and have been a podiatrist for 7 years in Horsham, Ballarat and Geelong. Throughout my time as a podiatrist I have worked closely with footwear stores ensuring I have high level knowledge of shoe characteristics and how they impact your feet and legs.  I’ve also worked alongside a number of sporting teams including being the podiatrist for U18 NAB league Greater Western Victoria Rebels.

I pursued a career in podiatry due to an interest in physics/biomechanics and how they can be used to help with different foot, ankle and leg conditions. I also love working with clients of all fitness and mobility levels. Whether it is helping you get through your working day without pain, managing an injury to get you on the sporting field on Saturday or assessing your running technique to have you smashing your running goals without injuries - I’m passionate about helping you along this journey.

I enjoy all aspects of podiatry, but have a special interest in Footwear Assessments, Running/Walking Gait analysis and management of forefoot (ball of the foot), heel and achilles pain.  Being a keen runner myself really helps me understand how important it is for not only your physical health to stay active in your desired activity, but also mentally and socially.

Outside of work you may find me running along the Barwon river or in the summer in the river water skiing.
